Useful Firefox Shortcuts

For those of you who use Firefox and use the Search Box frequently (I use it quite frequently), here are 2 shortcut keys that really help:

1. To go right to the search box in the upper right, press command + k (on a Mac; I would assume control + k on a PC, although I’m not sure).

2. To open those search results in a new tab, press alt + enter.

  1. here’s another cool trick for searching on Google AND Bible Gateway (esv):

    Google
    - run a google search (with results)
    - bookmark the page then goto bookmarks, find link and go to ‘Properties’
    - Edit location to look like this: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%s
    - Make keyword = g (or any other letter)
to use it, hit ‘ctrl’ + ‘l’ (lower case L), that directs u to the address bar and type “g enter search term here” and it will directly take u to results.

    Biblegateway
    - same as above
    - here’s the location: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=%s&version=47
    - i use the keyword ‘b’
now try a search: “b enter scripture passage here”
