For those of you familiar with the Carrie Prajean (Miss California) issues, I agree wholeheartedly with these two assessments. While I appreciate her stance based on biblical principles in her support of marriage between a man and a woman and am definitely sympathetic to the persecution she has faced because of her faith, I have always been troubled by the fact that her public voice is as a ‘beauty queen,’ a contest that at its core rests on physical beauty. I want to read the stories but I don’t want to look at the pictures. To do so tempts every man to be interested in much more than the story.
